Mehling Hall, the tallest building on campus and in North Portland, houses women in 195 rooms on its eight floors. Mehling was built in 1964 and has housed women exclusively since its opening. The hall is named for the Rev. Theodore J. Mehling, C.S.C., the 11th president of the University.

Fun Facts

  • Entertainer Jack Benny performed for students in Mehling's lounge the week before the building was officially dedicated.
  • The Tree of Life stainless steel and enamel sculpture of branches and leaves adorns the entryway; Lee and John Kelly, Bonnie Bronson artists.
